The type of personal information I collect
I currently collect and process the following information:
- Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)
- Information about the student’s education history, status and abilities
- Information about the student’s intended use of my languages services
- Demographic information such as preferences and interests
- Other information requested on voluntary customer surveys and/or offers
- Accounting, billing credit/debit card or other payment details
How I get the personal information and why I have it
Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- to provide you with a quote or an invoice
- to deliver a series of language lessons that meet your needs and expectations
- to contact you regarding your language progress
- to send you information regarding my services or special offers
- to collect and analyse statistics to improve the service I provide you
- to fulfil legal requirements
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:

Sharing information with third parties
Invoices and the data contained in invoices may be sent to an accountant, lawyer or authorities for fulfilling my accounting and tax obligations.
How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored on password protected devices.
- I only store data for as long as is necessary to deliver my language services safely and securely.
- I store data obtained from e-mail correspondence with clients for a period of 5 years.
- I store data contained in teaching projects and lesson plans for up to 7 years to maintain records of work completed.
- I store financial data for up to 10 years as a record of work completed.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify and erase this data.

- You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification
- You have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure
- You have the right to ask me to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
I am not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
